Goalkeepers – Aaron Ramsdale

Arsenal rank first on the fixture ticker this week. They face matches against Everton and Leicester. This provides two opportunities for the clean sheets. Although they have picked up just two clean sheets in their last six matches, their underlying defensive data this season suggests they have one of the best defences in the league.

Amongst all teams in the league Arsenal rank joint second best for clean sheets (nine), second best for goals conceded (21) and third best for shots on target conceded (69). If Arsenal can start tightening up again, then Aaron Ramsdale (£4.9m) could be a fantastic option.

Alisson Becker

Liverpool rank second on the fixture ticker ticker for Gameweek 25. They face matches against Wolves and Crystal Palace. Both of their opponents have really struggled for goals this season and that can be seen in their underlying offensive stats.

Amongst all teams this season Wolves rank joint second worst for goals scored (17), second worst for big chances total (27) and joint second worst for shots on target (69). Crystal Palace have also been struggling in front of goal so the potential for Alisson Becker (£5.4m) could be there and because of this, he gets his inclusion into the top picks for Gameweek 25.

José Sá

Wolves rank fourth on the fixture ticker with matches against Liverpool and Fulham. Both teams have shown bluntness in front of goals as of late. Liverpool and Fulham have both failed to score in three of their last six matches.

Defenders – Oleksandr Zinchenko

Arsenal’s two matches indicate it could be a great time to look into their defensive options. The potential for clean sheets could be solid but finding the defender with the most attacking threat could be absolutely key.

Oleksandr Zinchenko (£5.1m) stands out above his defensive colleagues. The Ukranian can get into some of the most advanced positions on the pitch, increasing his likelihood of attacking returns. Zinchenko also ranks fourth for expected goal involvement (1.52) amongst all defenders in the league in the last six matches.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool may be defensively inconsistent but their double Gameweek will be attracting a lot of suitors, especially considering their opponents. In the past the Reds have tended to utilise their fullbacks better than any other team in the league offensively.

Last season was a good example of how good Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.3m) is. He bagged two goals and a whopping 12 assists from 32 matches. Amongst all defenders in the last six matches he also ranks second for crosses (44), second for successful crosses (10), second for chances created (10) and second for big chances created (four).

Andrew Robertson

Staying with the dangerous Liverpool full-backs, there is a cheaper route. Many should also consider left back Andrew Robertson (£6.8m). The Scotsman has proved to be a fantastic FPL option in the past and although results have not been there for Liverpool, the potential in a double Gameweek is too hard to ignore.

Robertson may be a lesser attractive option than his colleague Trent but his stats are still promising. Amongst all defenders in the league this season he ranks fourth for crosses (115), fourth for successful crosses (37), fourth for chances created (31) and fourth for big chances created (five). With key players returning from injury just in time for his double Gameweek, Robertson has to be considered amongst the top picks for Gameweek 25.

James Tarkowski

Everton have a double Gameweek which means many managers will be looking at their assets this week. Some will be hoping to find a cheap budget option in the Toffee’s backline. One player who stands out is James Tarkowski (£4.2m).

Tarkowski has two attempts at keeping a clean sheet this week which adds to his appeal. However it’s his offensive threat that could edge it above his teammates. He leads his defensive teammates in terms of expected goal involvement (0.68) in the last six matches. Tarkowski’s recent 15-pointer in FPL also highlights his attacking potential as he scored a goal.

Craig Dawson

Wolves have kept two clean sheets in their last six matches and whilst some of their defensive data is concerning, some of it is promising. In the last six matches they rank in the six best teams for goals conceded (six) and shots on target conceded (22).

Similar to Everton, many will be hoping to find a Wolves defender with some attacking threat. That player could be centre back Craig Dawson (£4.8m). Amongst his teammates in the last six matches he leads the way for expected goal involvement (0.72). Dawson also scored in his most recent match against Liverpool whilst also claiming a huge 12-point return. For all of the reasons above, the centre back makes his way into the top picks for Gameweek 25.

Midfielders – Bukayo Saka

Arsenal may be in the middle of mini slump but offensively there still up there with some of the best. In their last six matches amongst all teams they rank first for attempts on goal (118), first for shots in the box (85) and first for minutes per chance (5.7).

For those reasons it could be wise to invest in their main man and penalty taker. Bukayo Saka (£8.3m) continues to have an excellent season. In his last six matches Saka has banked four returns so has the recent form to scrutinise the poor defences he faces in Gameweek 25.

Martin Ødegaard

One of Arsenal’s opponents in Gameweek 25 is Everton. In the last six matches the Toffees have conceded the second most goals (11), and also rank in the the worst six teams for shots in the box conceded (60) and big chances conceded (15).

Martin Ødegaard (£7m) has huge potential in the round ahead. Although blanking in his last three matches the Norwegian has shown he can be explosive in FPL. Hitting six double-digit hauls already this season and ranking fourth amongst all midfielders for non penalty expected goal involvement (10.19) indicates Ødegaard could have big potential going into his double Gameweek.

Mohamed Salah

One of the two teams Liverpool face in Gameweek 25 is Crystal Palace who are in a torrid run of form. Defensively, in their last six matches they rank the worst for shots in the box conceded (71), the worst for shots on target conceded (36) and third worst for big chances conceded (18).

For that reason it could be time to bring back the Egyptian king. Mohamed Salah (£12.6m) has had an underwhelming season but the double Gamweek could be his turning point. Taking penalties is a bonus and he also ranks fourth amongst midfielders in the last six matches inside the box (14). Mohammad Salah eases his way into the top picks for Gameweek 25 and many will even be considering giving him the captaincy armband.

Kevin De Bruyne

Manchester City face a an away game against Bournemouth in Gameweek 25. The promoted side are really struggling to gain any momentum this season. In fact they have won just one of their last 10 matches, lost seven and kept just one clean sheet.

Bournemouth are there to be targeted. One player who could do well for Manchester City is talisman Kevin De Bruyne (£12.4m). No player in the league has created more chances (69) or big chances (23) this season. The Belgian has also shown to be a goal threat. He scored in his recent match against title rivals Arsenal whilst also securing a 13-point haul.

Riyad Mahrez

Bournemouth’s poor form means it could be worth doubling up on the Manchester City attacking assets. The Cherries rank joint third worst for goals conceded (10), third worst for shots on target conceded (34) and the second worst for shots conceded (100).

One of Manchester City’s biggest goal threats is Riyad Mahrez (£7.8m). The Algerian has picked up returns in half of his last six games including two double-digit hauls. Amongst all players in the last six matches he also ranks third for non penalty expected goal involvement (4.51). Mahrez has to be considered amongst the top picks for Gameweek 25.

Forwards – Erling Haaland

Manchester City’s relentless attack has one main contributor this season. Erling Haaland (£12.2m) continues to dominate his first season in the Premier League. Bagging 26 goals and four assists already, the Norwegian striker has totalled a whopping 30 goal contributions in 22 games.

Haaland sits as the most owned and highest scoring player in the game, so it would be unwise to back against him and his recent stats only reinforce his appeal. No player has had more big chances (13) than Haaland in the last six matches.

Eddie Nketiah

Arsenal’s double Gameweek continues to pour out some fantastic attacking options. The league title chasers will be looking to regain their dominance at the top with Manchester City closing in. Their motivation is strong and one player full of motivation is Eddie Nketiah (£6.8m).

With Gabriel Jesus getting closer to regaining fitness after his injury, Nketiah needs to perform to at least slow his inevitable demise. The striker has been putting up some great stats lately. In his last six matches amongst all players he ranks third for attempts on goal (22), first for attempts in the box (21) and joint second for big chances total (eight). Nketiah makes the top picks for Gameweek 25 but he could be on borrowed time.

Darwin Nunez

Liverpool may have been up and down for the majority of the campaign, but they have still maintained some brilliant underlying offensive stats. In fact, this season amongst all teams they rank third for attempts on goal (351), second for attempts in the box (253) and second for big chances total (65).

Another way into the Liverpool frontline could be Darwin Nunez (£8.7m). The striker has been one of the most exciting players in the league to watch this season and he’s back to full health. This season no player who has played more than five matches has a better non penalty expected goal involvement per 90 minutes and for that reason Nunez makes the top picks for Gameweek 25.
