Live FPL Rank Tiers – GW10

An inside look into the decisions of FPL managers, by rank, using the Live FPL website

AUTOSUBS MADE

The non-appearances of Bryan Mbeumo, Mason Mount and Cesar Azpilicueta affected almost 64% of the top 10k but many were recipients of returns from Southampton pair Tino Livramento (6) and Adam Armstrong (5). Further afield, amongst the game’s 8.5 million managers, the added absence of Danny Ings, Marcos Alonso and Mason Greenwood affected a noteworthy number of managers, with virtually no success from popular automatic substitutes Shane Duffy (0), Daniel Amartey (0), Javier Manquillo (1) and Yves Bissouma (1).

This is before tonight’s Wolves vs Everton game, so these numbers will be adjusted further should well-owned players like Demarai Gray, Raul Jimenez or Hwang Hee-chan not participate.

TOP 10K CHIP USAGE

Very little chip usage this week, with over 89% of managers having already used their first Wildcard and the majority wise enough to know that future blank and double gameweeks are *theoretically* the ideal time to use Bench Boost, Free Hit and Triple Captain chips.

TOP 10K TEMPLATE

Phil Foden gained over 733,000 new owners for Gameweek 10, enabling him to replace Kai Havertz in one of two changes to the top 10k template. The other saw Ivan Toney come in for Raul Jimenez, although he failed to deliver a goal involvement during Brentford’s 3-1 defeat at Burnley.

The 99.99% ownership of Mohamed Salah is, quite frankly, ridiculous and a four-man defence seems to be a popular tactic amongst the elite. An 4-3-3 starting XI with Salah captain and Duffy, Mbeumo, Josh Brownhill and Robert Sanchez on the bench would have brought this team 45 points.

EFFECTIVE OWNERSHIP

As with most weeks, the effective ownership (percentage of starting XI teams, plus captaincy, of a player) of Livramento dramatically reduces to 39.99% because FPL managers usually bench him by default, despite being in wonderful form.

The top 100k EO of Salah was tantalisingly close to 200%, making his points return against Brighton almost irrelevant. Being captained by 4.6 million managers this weekend is an all-time FPL record – edging his Gameweek 8 and Gameweek 9 numbers into second and third place.
